EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The New Teacher Project (TNTP) will establish clear frameworks for attracting and recruiting strong teacher applicants by creating a Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) personalized selection model. TNTP will utilize our current instructional rubrics to design effective interview tools and protocols for our principals providing schools the resources to efficiently screen and interview applicants. Through professional development training, principals will learn to apply competency-based interview questions that differentiate for candidates of all backgrounds, including school-specific scenario questions. TNTP will establish monitoring systems to improve school-level vacancy forecasting and recruiting efforts based on teacher turnover, attrition, and promotion data. Through this process, HCPS will establish aggressive hiring benchmarks through the use of clear processes and turnaround times. | |
