Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Horizon Software International (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Horizon Software International (Horizon) is the information management system used by Student Nutrition Services (SNS). This software integrates point of sale (POS) with back-office functions such as menus, production records, recipes, nutrient analysis, ordering, receiving, and inventory.  To assist the district staff and school SNS employees during the start-up of school, I am requesting on-site technical assistance from Horizon.  In light of the complexity and difficulty of resolving a host of problems that are typically present during the beginning of school, a Horizon consultant would provide SNS with an invaluable benefit. This is especially important with the resignation of SNS’s programming analyst who had expertise in solving software problems, specific to the Horizon operating system.

Funds will be available through Student Nutrition Services budget in the amount of $59,700.
