Approve Affiliation Agreement for Clinical Education for Veterinary Assisting Programs, 2014/2015 | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the following affiliation agreement to provide clinical education for veterinary assisting programs:
The Florida Department of Education curriculum frameworks, industry certification from the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the upcoming animal science industry certification from Florida Farm Bureau require clinical education for the veterinary assisting and animal science education program enrollees. At this time, Plant City High School has 180 students that require the hands-on clinical experience provided by this affiliation agreement. The length of programs in which students are enrolled range from three to four years. These agreements are necessary to fulfill our obligation to students for clinical experiences necessary to obtain industry certifications. The partnerships that we establish with the clinical and educational facilities in this community are essential to our education programs and beneficial to the agriculture industry. We are pleased that the quality of our graduates provides an incentive to the industry to continue our mutually beneficial relationship. |
