EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On July 26, 2011, the Board approved the piggy-back of the State of Florida agreement # 252-500-09-1 for mainframe and other software. The district maintains maintenance coverage for information technology software critical to the daily operations of the district. This agenda item provides IBM Passport Advantage software maintenance renewals to continue to support the operations of the district's data center systems. Passport Advantage software is IBM's software license and maintenance offerings for distributed software.
To increase efficiency, all Passport Advantage eligible software maintenance renewals are prorated to align to this combined annual contract following their initial coverage period. The renewals include IBM software required by Lawson payroll and financial systems, Student Information System, teacher and principal dashboards, and district reporting. In accordance with the Florida Department of Education, Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(5) and (10), As required by Section 1001.42(12)(j), F.S., the district school board shall receive and give consideration to the prices available to it under rules of the Department of Management Services, Division of Purchasing. District school boards may use prices established by the Division of Purchasing through its state purchasing agreement price schedule. |
