SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Stipulation to Cancel and Abate Termination Hearing of Gloria Moorer and Debra Gwyn.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The termination hearings for the cases of teachers Gloria Moorer and Debra Gwyn have been canceled at the request of the attorneys representing the teachers.  The Superintendent has stipulated to the request that the hearings be postponed until a decision is reached in the court case of Mary Borne v. MaryEllen Elia.  That case is an appeal from the School Board’s order upholding her termination for having received two “U” evaluations.  The issue that is on appeal will effectively determine the hearings for Gwyn and Moorer.  If Borne is upheld, there will be no need for a hearing in those cases.  If Borne is reversed, the cases will be tried under a different standard.  The Stipulated Motion to Cancel and Abate Termination Hearing is attached hereto.
