| Approve the Agreement for Technical Services for Vyshnavi Infotech Inc. to Provide AIX Systems Support (Information and Technology Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| This agreement is needed to provide System Administration services necessary to maintain the operation of IBM AIX operating systems within the district’s data center. Many of the district’s applications depend on IBM AIX operating systems including the Enterprise Resource Planning application (Lawson). The technical services provided by this agreement are for the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of IBM AIX operating systems.
In order to minimize cost, the district’s long-term objective is to maintain these skillsets in-house. Recent turnover in staff has forced outsourcing of this area of expertise. Through RFP #9090-DST: IT Supplemental Staffing, the same contractor was provided by a third party at $96 per hour in July 2013 to cover a 3-month term in support of Lawson environments. Establishing this Agreement for Technical Services directly with the contractor’s employer, for a longer term, reduces the district’s cost to $68 per hour. |

| EVALUATION | |
| The consultant is under the direct supervision of the Department Manager, Infrastructure and Shared Services within the Information and Technology Division, who assigns and reviews tasks and priorities on a weekly basis. | |
