EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On September 11, 2012, an Information Item was presented to the Board regarding InSync Education providing access to its Parents K-12 resource portal to all parents, students, and community partners (Item A 9.02).  The Parents K-12 resource portal was piloted during the 2011/2012 school year by the district’s English Language Learner (ELL) Department.  This user-friendly online tool provides parents age-appropriate activities and resources that support their child’s grade level specific curriculum.  Customized activities, curriculum, and resources specific to the district can be added to the portal.  All online content can be translated into Spanish and Haitian-Creole, in both written and verbal form.  For secondary students and their parents, the Parents K-12 portal offers college and career-ready resources, life skill activities, and job preparation activities.  Community partners will also have access to the portal to provide further support to students and parents.  InSync Education is aligned to the new Florida Standards. This agreement is for 12 months, beginning on October 29, 2014, or upon receipt of a purchase order.

The district has worked in accordance with the state Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(11)(b) and is authorized by Section 1010.04(4)(a), F.S. for purchasing of copyrighted materials where such materials are purchased directly from the owner of the copyright.
