SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Articulation Agreement with the District Board of Trustees of Hillsborough Community College (HCC), 2015/2016 and Establish Collegiate High Schools in Hillsborough County
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Collegiate High School Program (CHSP) is an articulated acceleration mechanism between HCC and Hillsborough County Public Schools.  CHSP shall serve to shorten the time necessary for students to complete the requirements associated with the conference of an Associate of Arts degree, broaden the scope of curriculum options available to students, and increase the depth of study available for a particular subject.  College credit courses will be available to eligible high school students while they are simultaneously completing their high school requirements.  HCC and Hillsborough County Public Schools agree to have at least one CHSP established in at least one high school in Hillsborough County at a mutually agreed upon location, with the option to expand the CHSP to other high schools in Hillsborough County.

Each CHSP will offer the option for high school students in grades 11-12 participating in the CHSP for at least one full school year to earn Career and Professional Education (CAPE) Industry Certification from the high school site housing the CHSP.  Further, each CHSP will allow for the successful completion of a minimum of thirty credits through the dual enrollment towards completion of an Associate of Arts degree.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Without our strong partnership with HCC, the district would incur a cost of approximately $500,000.  Costs incurred by the district will offset via in-kind services and facility usage.  The district will continue to provide textbooks for dual enrollment students.
EVALUATION
At the conclusion of the agreement with HCC, we will evaluate the program by the number of students participating at the end of the 2015/2016 school year.
