EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The University of South Florida (USF) Robert Noyce STEM Scholars program prepares STEM professionals, both change-of-career and recent graduates, to teach secondary school mathematics or science. In its final year, the program will meet the goal of preparing 31 graduates who have earned an accelerated Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree and state certification in either 6-12 mathematics, 6-12 physics, 6-12 biology, or 6-12 chemistry. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation through a competitive application process and supports full tuition and associated educational costs for scholars, totaling over $1 million collectively. In addition to the full scholarship, each Noyce Scholar is supported by course related and non-course related experiences to engage in a professional learning and provided ongoing support by university faculty throughout their first two years as classroom teachers. | |
