Approve Design Development for Middle School TT

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A new middle school is included in the approved 2013-2014 Five Year Capital Outlay Plan to support recent and future growth impacting Eisenhower, Shields and Barrington Middle Schools. The school will be built on Balm Road (CR 672), east of US Route 301 in the South County Region on property owned by the School Board. The school is being designed to achieve Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification, and will open in August 2016 for the 2016-2017 school year.

On February 25, 2014, the Board approved a Resolution for Impact Fee Disbursement and appointed Ranon & Partners, Inc. and Allstate Construction Company to provide design and construction management services.

Approval of design development as illustrated in the attachment will allow the design professional to proceed with construction documents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

The construction budget is $26,703,729, to be funded by Impact Fees.
