SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Computer Mentors Group, Inc. at AMIkids Tampa, Brandon Alternative, Bellamy and Ippolito Elementary, and Shields Middle Schools (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Computer Mentors Group, Inc. (Computer Mentors) will provide 20 program hours of the Kids Code Program to 15 students at each site.  The program will include computer technician courses, certification, equipment, and supplies and will teach youth to disassemble and reassemble cell phones and tablets, build a desktop computer, install software, and learn how to troubleshoot problems.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
This contract will be paid using Title I, Part D grant funds in the amount of $25,000.
EVALUATION
Computer Mentors will administer a pre- and posttest at the beginning and end of the contract period to participating students to determine if documented objectives of the program were achieved. Progress reports will be shared regularly with district staff, the program supervisor, and/or designee to discuss progress of the program objectives during the contract period. Data will be analyzed to determine the success of the program and future contracts with the provider. At the conclusion of the program, a final report will be shared with district staff.
