Approve Interlocal Agreement for Educational Services with Hillsborough County, Florida 
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County will provide financial assistance to eligible individuals enrolling in education, technical/vocational career training, postsecondary classes, industry certifications, programs, and/or other activities offered by Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS). Through this agreement, adult education staff will work collaboratively with Hillsborough County Social Services to make referrals, determine eligibility, and provide the necessary support in advancing education in order to facilitate individual’s efforts to achieve and maintain employment.

The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida will be the first signature on the agreement.  This agreement is going to the Hillsborough County Board meeting on December 17, 2014.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funding for this project is provided by Hillsborough County in the amount of $207,000.  HCPS will accept funds as outlined in this agreement in the form of tuition/fee vouchers on behalf of eligible students.
EVALUATION
Under the terms of this agreement, Hillsborough County will be responsible for the evaluation.  HCPS will provide the required data to evaluate student performance in completion rates, certificates acquired, and postsecondary and/or apprenticeships with employment.
