| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| If approved, the district will be utilizing the San Diego Unified School District agreement, via U.S. Communities, to purchase classroom furniture and equipment. The Virco product is Greenguard certified, making it a safe and sturdy choice for the classroom. Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) utilized Virco collaborative students' desks at Thompson Elementary School and will duplicate the purchase at Lamb Elementary School. Product may also be purchased for other room additions and requirements.
U.S. Communities is a national government purchasing cooperative. Contracts are competitively solicited between suppliers and a lead public agency. The initial term of the San Diego Unified School District contract is from January 1, 2015, through December 31, 2017, and may be renewed for two one year periods. If this purchase is approved, HCPS will commence its use effective January 21, 2015. This contract may be renewed by the Superintendent, per the terms of the specifications. In accordance with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) Purchasing Policy 6A-1.012(6), in lieu of requesting competitive solicitations from three or more sources, district school boards may make purchases at or below the specified prices from contracts awarded by other city or county governmental agencies, or other district school boards. |
