Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Pacific Research and Evaluation, LLC for the Evaluation of the Math and Science Partnership (MSP) Grant (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This agreement is required to meet the evaluation requirement of the MSP grant.  Pacific Research and Evaluation, LLC was selected to serve as a third party project evaluator based on their responses to the Request for Proposal (RFP) 11143-DST Program Evaluation Services.  The RFP process provided an opportunity for all interested evaluators to apply as potential Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) program evaluation providers.

The MSP grant is intended to increase the academic achievement of students in math and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers.  Key activities include Summer Institutes, a Science Technology Engineering Math Writer’s Academy, Teacher Certification Readiness Courses, and Professional Development Needs Assessments.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The cost is not to exceed $70,000.  Funding is provided from the $1,134,621 awarded to the district for the implementation of the Math Science Partnership Grant.  
EVALUATION
A final evaluation report will be submitted to the district.
