Humana Vitality Activity and Rewards Program (Human Resources Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Humana health insurance-enrolled employees, retirees and their enrolled dependents are eligible to participate in Humana Vitality. With its program of fun activities and rewards, Vitality encourages its members of every age and health status to achieve goals to improve their health: lower blood pressure, reduce stress, make healthier food choices, learn about programs to prevent certain health conditions, lose weight, quit smoking, and much more.

Many of our employees are already participating in the Vitality program, competing with co-workers to see who can reach “Silver Status” first or who has earned the most Vitality points. Vitality points create Vitality Bucks that can be used at the Humana Vitality Mall to purchase gift cards, movie tickets, fit bits, iPads, apparel, home goods, video games, sports equipment, hotel stays, travel deals, and more! So, Vitality is fun and profitable for participants!

Humana is so convinced that their Vitality program leads to improved health and ultimately reduces medical claims costs, they have offered the District an incentive bonus of up to $4,529,494, if 35% of the District’s eligible employees join Vitality and achieve “Silver Status” by September 1, 2015! To help us meet that goal, Humana has provided HCPS with a full-time wellness consultant, who will be visiting sites to help enroll individuals and promote group activities and competitions. In addition, Humana is sponsoring two screening events to help kick off our “Reach for Silver” campaign.

We need to encourage every Humana enrolled employee, retiree, and  family member to "Reach for Silver."  This is a tremendous opportunity for everyone to have fun while getting healthier, earning prizes, and saving money for our district.

Humana will pay a bonus to HCPS for every HCPS Humana member who achieves Vitality Silver Status, up to a maximum of $4,529,494.
EVALUATION
Humana Vitality is included in the District's 2015 health insurance program.
