| Approve the Addition of One New Component to the Master Plan for Inservice Education (Student Services Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Florida Statute Section 1012.98 requires that each district school board develop and maintain an inservice educational training program. Descriptions of training programs offered for inservice credit are incorporated into the Master Plan for Inservice Education. The revision of the Master Plan for Inservice Education is approved annually by the school board and Florida Department of Education. During the year, specific training needs arise that require new courses to be developed and added to the master plan. Recent legislation requires all certificated personnel earn at least 20 inservice points of training in the instruction of students with disabilities.
In response to the legislation, the attached component, Alternative Certification Program: Educating Students with Disabilities, is being added to the Master Inservice Plan in order to help teachers in the Alternative Certification Program support the education of students with disabilities. |
