Approve Second Modification to the Agreement Between Hillsborough County and the School Board of Hillsborough County for Use of School Buildings as Public Shelters During Times of Declared Emergencies

In 2001, the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County entered into an agreement to use the School Board's buildings as public shelters during declared emergencies.  This agreement was modified in 2002 to add additional language regarding disbursement of grant funds to the School Board by the County as these funds become available for shelter modifications, enhancements or retrofits to school facilities.  This second modification also adds language to the grant fund disbursement phase by the County, requesting that the School Board provide all required support documentation as a means for the County to be in compliance with the deliverables as outlined in each grant.

The second modification would also allow the County's emergency responders to use other school facilities, such as fields, parking lots, etc. during times of declared emergencies for points of dispensing food, water and emergency supplies.
