Recognition of the National Medalists and Regional Gold Key Winners of the 2015 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation's youth and provided opportunities for creative teens in grades 7 through 12.  Prior winners include notable American writers and artists such as Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Stephen King, and Robert Redford.

As this is our first year of being a regional affiliate, we received over 1,200 art and writing entries; 337 of those works received regional awards during our February 12, 2015, reception at Blake High School.  The 65 middle and high school students who were awarded Gold Key honors automatically advanced for national adjudication.

The national award winners will be celebrated on June 11, 2015, with a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  A selection of nationally awarded art and writing will be displayed during the national celebration events and potentially published in the National Catalog and The Best of Teen Writing.

We are grateful to Suncoast Credit Union for being the founding presenting sponsor and also the Hillsborough Education Foundation for their support.
