Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute - Phase 2 to Support the Leadership Development of the 30 POWER 3 Teacher Leaders (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
For over 25 years, the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at Eckerd College has provided contemporary, high-quality, assessment based leadership programs to help individuals, teams and organizations reach their leadership potential. The LDI has created a School Leadership Institute specifically designed to maximize the leadership skills of the POWER 3 Teacher Leaders. Through participation in Phase 1 of School Leadership Institute last summer, Teacher Leaders gained valuable skills and strategies, which they brought back and implemented at their school sites. The School Leadership Institute provided Teacher Leaders with the skill set to work with diverse faculties and build relationships to promote environments of continuous professional learning. Through participation in Phase 2 of the School Leadership Institute, POWER 3 Teacher Leaders will receive leadership training and development in the following areas:

• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression | |

Funding for this project is provided by the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) 4 Grant in the amount of $45,000, which is allocated for external leadership and coaching support for the 30 Teacher Leaders in POWER 3 schools. | |
EVALUATION | |
The Power 3 Program will be evaluated in its entirety to include the Leadership Institute's impact on Teacher Leader skills and effectiveness. The program is evaluated by TIF 4 Administrators, Professional Development Supervisor, and an external evaluator. | |
