SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Inc. for Services Associated with the Middle School Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Program (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Inc. will provide teacher training, coaching support, materials, and resources necessary to provide middle school students with social emotional learning skills; help establish a healthy school climate; and foster academic success, positive youth development, risk prevention, and health promotion.  Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Inc. will also train teachers to deliver community building activities embedded in their content area to support the prevention component of the curriculum. This program will be implemented in all middle schools 2015/2016 through 2018/2019.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Motivate students to become responsible learners • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The cost of $610,616 over the four-year period will be available from Supplemental Academic Instruction (SAI) funds, Project 4624.  This Agreement for Technical Services can be canceled at any time with a 30-day notice.
EVALUATION
An external evaluation will be conducted by the Center of Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV), a research program of the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. CSPV will work with the Assessment and Accountability Department to complete necessary data collection efforts.  Reports will be available at the end of each school year.
