Recognition of Idlewild Baptist Church's Day of Caring | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On Saturday, February 28, 2015, on a day when the weather did not fully cooperate, the Idlewild Baptist Church's 300 volunteers turned out to eagerly help us beautify the landscaping at 23, mostly elementary, schools in the District. The group, without a single complaint, planted over 120 crape myrtle trees and spread over 1,700 bags of mulch on a day when there was intermittent and sometimes heavy rains. They stuck with us and even provided clean-up efforts that left our schools in a beautiful condition. Our thanks to the Idlewild congregation for this kind and charitable event. |
