EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
AMIkids - YES provides a 240-day residential Dropout Prevention Program for 30 boys who have been adjudicated delinquent by the courts and are under the supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice. AMIkids - YES provides the facility and the personnel for the educational program, with support and oversight by the district’s Youth Services Program. The district is required to pay private providers like AMIkids - YES 90 percent of all FTE revenue earned and provide access to all applicable categorical funds. Additional funds have been provided through Specific Appropriation 86 with a supplemental allocation for Juvenile Justice Education Programs. | |

The cost of this contract is approximately $195,849. This amount is calculated using the projected FTE-generated revenue, plus the applicable categorical funds, minus 10 percent administrative cost allowed by Florida Law HB 1989 and a percentage of the cost of direct instructional services provided by a district ESE Resource Teacher assigned to this site. This item is included in the Part 1 budget for 2015/2016. | |
EVALUATION | |
This program is evaluated annually by Youth Services department staff based on a model developed by the Juvenile Justice Educational Enhancement Program (JJEEP). A review will be completed by June 30, 2016. | |
