Approve Award of Contract for Exterior Painting at Four Sites (James, Randall, Riverhills and Webb)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A previously approved District Facilities Five Year Work Program provides for exterior painting at  James and Riverhills Elementary, and Randall and Webb Middle Schools.  District staff combined the requirements into a single project and selected Jerel McCants Architecture, Inc. from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services.

The project was advertised and several bidders responded to the solicitation (see attached bid tabulation). The bid documents allowed for award of projects separately for each site, and also allowed firms to indicate the maximum contract award they were willing to accept.  Award of contracts for construction that will result in the lowest total cost to the District, as indicated in the attached bid tabulation, is recommended.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

The contract amount being awarded is $466,173. Funds for this item are included in District Capital Outlay: Local Millage.
