Approve the First Amendment of the Agreement for Technical Services with The New Teacher Project (Human Resources Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On August 12, 2014, the School Board approved the Agreement for Technical Services between Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and The New Teacher Project (TNTP). This agreement amendment will continue the development of: (1) recruiting strategies that produce highly qualified instructional applicants in high risk and hard to fill areas, (2) a central screening model that prioritizes the most qualified applicants, and (3) training modules to train administrative hiring teams in the use of effective interview techniques. TNTP has provided assistance in the integration of social media and community outreach in our recruiting system. In addition, TNTP has assisted the HCPS team in application and central screening models. Finally, TNTP is currently working with HCPS administrators in the use of selection interview tools.
The amendment of our current Agreement for Technical Services will ensure that the pilot program for screening and selection will be vetted by principal focus groups and presented to all administrators through a district-wide training. |
