Approve Renewal Agreement for Educational Services with the City of Tampa for Firefighter Training by Learey Technical College, 2015/2016 (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the renewal Agreement for Educational Services with the City of Tampa, Fire Rescue Department, to provide training to the City of Tampa firefighters and paramedics. Learey Technical College successfully initiated training for the City of Tampa firefighters and paramedics in 1988. This agreement is mutually beneficial for the continuation of necessary firefighter sciences training for the City of Tampa.
This agreement was submitted for approval by the City of Tampa at their June 25, 2015, Tampa City Council meeting. Pending City of Tampa approval, signatures will be provided following School Board approval. |

This item is included in the divisional general operating budget. The City of Tampa will pay up to $80,185.60 for Continuing Education Career Development instructor costs. | |
EVALUATION | |
The evaluation will be based on an analysis of the number of instructor hours for firefighter training provided by June 30, 2016. During the 2014/2015 school year, approximately 700 City of Tampa Fire Rescue employees were trained in the areas of firefighting and emergency medical procedures. | |
