EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
DACCO and HCPS enter into this agreement to provide a program of substance abuse prevention at select middle and high schools.  The program known as the New Directions Substance Abuse Prevention Program will help identify youth who have exhibited high-risk behaviors that increase the potential for academic failure, suspension, or expulsion from a traditional school setting.  The program is designed to allow DACCO prevention counselors to work collaboratively with the district’s School Counseling and Social Work Services Departments.  Agency services will include group and individual counseling.  This agreement will be in effect from July 29, 2015, through June 30, 2016.  This service partnership with DACCO has been in existence for 25 years.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The district provides office space for these services at the assigned schools. Approximate in-kind support from the district for this space and custodial support is $32,000 per year.
EVALUATION
Program services are evaluated at least twice a year. The joint management team will review outcome data quarterly and annually on all clients served.  Input will also be solicited from the administrators of the participating schools.
