EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Initiative: Head Start Performance Standards require that a formal structure for program governance be established and maintained for the oversight of quality services for its children and families.
Goals: To advise the Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) School Board (Governing Board of Head Start) of their legal and fiduciary responsibilities in the oversight of the program. Targeted Population: HCPS School Board and Superintendent's Staff. Timeline: Head Start Program Governance information is shared with HCPS School Board annually. Professional/Staff Development: HCPS School Board and Superintendent's Staff will receive additional training regarding Head Start Program Governance and their roles and responsibilities. Transferability: Knowledge from today will be transferred to the detailed combined training to be held at the Board of County Commissioners. Involvement: HCPS School Board will use this overview as a reference for future questions related to board governance in Head Start. |
