SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Six-Month Extension with Scantron for an Item Banking Platform Under the Existing Achievement Series User Agreement (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On July 29, 2014, the Board approved a one-year User Agreement for access to the Scantron Global Scholar Item Banking Platform. The district has used Scantron since 2006. This assessment system includes Scantron’s Achievement Series, a web-based districtwide assessment solution that allows teachers to develop and administer online and paper-based tests, capture the results, and produce standard-based reports. This system also supports the collection of assessment information at the district level.
The current agreement expires on July 31, 2015. Approving this agenda item provides for the continued use of the Scantron Item Banking Platform from August 1, 2015, through January 31, 2016. The continuation of this service is needed to aid in the transition to SchoolCity, a new assessment platform, which was approved by the Board on December 9, 2014. This extension will allow for makeup testing of 2014/2015 tests and for teachers and district supervisors to view prior year results for verification of scores and analysis of test results to support instructional improvement during the transition. The initial term is for a six-month period, and can be renewed for an additional six-months, subject to negotiations and mutual agreement. The Superintendent is authorized to approve one six-month renewal agreement, per the terms of the specifications. |
