SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Interagency Agreement with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), and, if Approved, Accept Funds for Expert Reviews of Multiple Standardized Assessments for Students with Visual Impairments for 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018 (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) will assist the FLDOE by providing expert reviews for the 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018 statewide assessments.  FIMC-VI will ensure the assessments listed below are appropriate for students with visual impairments. In addition, FIMC-VI will review items and distribute braille training test materials statewide assessments.

  • Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test 2.0
  • Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards End-of-Course Assessments
  • Florida Standards Assessment
  • Florida Standards Assessment End-of-Course 
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
If approved, grant funds will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget.  As authorized by Section 1008.22, Florida Statutes, FLDOE/K-12 Assessment Office will provide the district State General Revenue funds of $390,740 to complete assessment activities.
EVALUATION
Performance evaluation measures are determined by the Florida Department of Education.
