Approve Fourth Amendment to the Agreement with NCS Pearson, Inc. for the Purchase and Scoring of the Stanford Achievement Test (Information and Technology Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The proposed amended contract between The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida and NCS Pearson, Inc., formerly amended by the Board on June 10, 2014, is an extension of the July 1, 2005 contract. This fourth amendment will continue the use of the Stanford Achievement Test for the 2015/2016 school year. NCS Pearson, Inc. is the sole provider of the Stanford Achievement Test, Tenth Edition (Stanford 10). The Stanford 10 is a series of norm-referenced, objective-based tests designed to measure achievement in the skills commonly found nationally in state and district curricula. Students in grades 1 and 2 will be tested using the Total Reading and Mathematics batteries, grade 3 students will be tested in Reading Comprehension. The scores are reported in National Percentiles. The results of these tests allow comparison of the performance of district students with those tested nationally at the same grade levels.
Highlights of the contract include a 45 percent discount on catalog prices, scoring charges will remain at $0.60 per student and shipping and handling will remain at 6 percent. |
