| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
At their meeting on May 19, 2015, the School Board discussed the possibility of students serving on the board. During the discussion, Board Members raised several questions about this issue and referred to other Florida districts with students serving on a school board. The Board requested an information item for the July 14, 2015, School Board meeting regarding the following:
Staff reached out to Martin, Leon, Lee, and Miami-Dade counties, as well as Newport News School District in Virginia, for their insight into this process. Not every district responded to the inquiry; the attachment summarizes the information gathered. |
