SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve 2015-16 Millage Projects
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
In 2014 the Florida Legislature appropriated funds to support Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) projects for the 2014-15 fiscal year after 3 years with no funding from that source. To date, no allocation has been provided to the District for the 2015-16 fiscal year, therefore there are no maintenance projects proposed using this funding source. Millage funds are received from local property tax assessments. Millage funds also provide payment for debt service, site and bus purchases, and other obligations. The 2015-16 projects identified on the attached sheets are the result of prioritizing recommendations from facility assessments, maintenance staff, Area Superintendents and individual schools. |
|
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES | |
• Align financial resources to support the district's strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The 2015-16 District Capital Outlay PECO Maintenance Fund allocation is zero. The 2015-16 Local Millage Assessment available for projects after prior obligations is $46,227,730. |
