SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Chess Nut Society to Teach Chess Strategies for Staff Associated with the Hillsborough County Out-of-School Time Program (HOST) (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Chess Nut Society will provide HOST staff training, coaching support, materials, and resources necessary to provide HOST elementary students with chess skills, which foster academic success, and a positive youth development.  This program will be implemented in approximately 100 sites for the 2015/2016 school year.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Motivate students to become responsible learners • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The cost of $18,036 will be available in the HOST budget to supplement funding.
