Approve Grant of Easement and Shared Parking Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Parking Improvements at B.T. Washington Elementary School Adjacent to Robert W. Saunders Public Library

Since 2008, the students of Booker T. Washington Elementary School have had access to Robert W. Saunders Public Library by way of a connected walkway.  Hillsborough County reconstructed and expanded the library providing an enhanced children's' area for use by the public and students.  The new building requires additional parking on a small portion of the school's campus (Exhibit A). 

On April 26, 2012, the School Board approved after hours parking for the library at the main B.T. Washington parking lot.  By approving the Easement and Shared Parking Agreement, the improvements will result in approximately 21 additional parking spaces available for use by the library, school and park.

Approving the Easement and Shared Parking Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for parking improvements to Booker T. Washington Elementary School for the expanded Robert W. Saunders Library will have no financial impact to the district.  Hillsborough County will be responsible for the cost and construction of the additional parking improvements and site work.
