Approve the Purchase of i-Ready Licenses, Ready Instructional Print Materials, and Professional Development from Curriculum Associates, LLC (Sole-Source Provider) (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On September 9, 2014, the School Board approved i-Ready and Ready Language Arts Florida Standards (LAFS), which are supplemental materials that provide a blended model of print materials and technology-delivered literacy assessment and instruction. The materials will continue to be implemented in the 24 elementary extended reading time sites, which are identified by the Florida Department of Education as being in the 300 lowest performing Florida elementary schools. The i-Ready program provides individualized adaptive online diagnostic assessments, progress monitoring assessments, and automated differentiated instruction. The program creates individualized instructional plans utilizing the Ready print materials. All materials in the blended model are aligned to the elementary LAFS. All students in grades K-5 at each of the 24 sites will receive the i-Ready Diagnostic and Instruction Reading site license and Ready Florida Elementary Language Arts LAFS Instruction student book. Every teacher will receive a teacher resource book; individual access to the Tools for Instruction website that includes additional lessons aligned to the LAFS; and onsite i-Ready Professional Development throughout the school year. The following elementary schools will be participating:  Bryan, P.C., B. T. Washington, Clair Mel, Cleveland, Cypress Creek, DeSoto, Dunbar, Edison, James, Just, Kimbell, Lockhart, Miles, Mort, Oak Park, Potter, Reddick, Robles, Shaw, Sheehy, Sulphur Springs, Trapnell, West Tampa, and Witter.

Curriculum Associates, LLC is designated as sole-source and owns the copyright to all i-Ready licenses, training materials, and professional development. This purchase is exempt from the requesting competitive solicitations by the Florida Department of Education 6A.-1.012 Purchasing Policies (11) (b).
