SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Change in Practice Utilized to Identify Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Laptops and Tablets (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On April 21, 2009, the Board approved the engraving of laptops and tablets. The practice was established to clearly identify HCPS laptops and tablets as district-owned electronic assets and deter theft. The top surface of these devices are engraved as follows:
Property of Hillsborough County Public Schools The current cost of engraving is $13 and is part of a bundle price. We are proposing that we replace the engraving with a 3" x 5", neon yellow, Tyvek label we currently use on thin tablet devices. The labels cost $1.77 each, but are indestructible and extremely difficult to remove. This proposal has been reviewed by the Property Control Department and appropriate Information Technology staff. |
