Request Approval of the Activities Calendar for Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) - 2015/2016
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The JROTC activities calendar is developed and presented for School Board approval each year.  A list of JROTC co-curricular activities for October 2015 through October 2016 is attached.

Approval of this calendar allows students to participate in related JROTC in-county and out-of-county activities for 27 high schools and 1 career center. 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Fees for these activities will be funded by school internal accounts, military budget, and JROTC budget - Project 6200.  Participation fees may be per school or per student depending on the activity.
EVALUATION
Over 5,000 students participated in JROTC during the 2014/2015 school year. Activities will be evaluated by the program supervisor based on the number of students participating and the impact on student achievement.
