| Recognition of the State-Level Finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) for the 2014/2015 School Year (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The PAEMST is awarded annually to outstanding K-12 mathematics and science teachers. This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding contributions of teachers in Florida and represents the highest honors bestowed by the United States government.
Selection committees of outstanding scientists, mathematicians, and educators review PAEMST applications at the state and national levels. Nominees are then sent to the White House of Science and Technology Policy and to the President for final selection. Ms. Sue E. Traynham, mathematics teacher at Sickles High School, and Ms. Kelly W. Zunkiewicz, mathematics teacher at Lennard High School, have been selected as one of the state-level mathematics finalists. Their accomplishments and commitment to excellence in mathematics education are to be applauded as they represent the state of Florida during the national selection process. |
