SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Agreement of Understanding with Community Work Exposure Site for Students with Disabilities for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 School Years (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval for an Agreement of Understanding for a new business to be used as a Community Work Exposure site. First Presbyterian Church will provide exposure to childcare assistance, custodial maintenance, clerical, and various horticultural activities. Student participants will also be given career exploration experiences and opportunities to job shadow professionals in different careers. Under this two-year Agreement of Understanding, an additional school site will have the opportunity to participate.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $52,000.00 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget, IDEA, for the two-year agreement. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 2931. As of Tuesday, December 1, 2015, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $222,000.00. The estimated cost for the two-year period transporting over 50 students with disabilities to and from all business sites is approximately $52,000.
EVALUATION
Business evaluations will serve as an integral part of assessing the effectiveness of the program. Businesses involved will be given quarterly evaluations for completion, with the final evaluations to be conducted no later than May 28, 2016, and May 19, 2017.
