Recognition of the Winners for the Tampa Hillsborough County Public Library Our Hispanic Heritage Art Contests (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

National Hispanic Heritage Month is the month of September.  The Tampa Hillsborough County Public Library sponsors a countywide art contest that allows students to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.  Using the theme "Our Hispanic Heritage," students in grades K-5 entered the bookmark contest, middle and high school students entered the poster contest.

  • Bookmark Awards - Grades K-2:  1st Place - Selah Chandrakuar, Grade 2, Claywell Elementary School; 2nd Place - Natalie Miller, Grade 2, Claywell Elementary School
  • Bookmark Awards - Grades 3-5:  1st Place - Arnold Moran, Grade 5, Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School; 2nd Place - Elizabeth Hernandez, Grade 5, Claywell Elementary School
  • Poster Awards - Grade 6-8:  1st Place - Anjelika Ratanakarn, Grade 7, Roland K-8 Magnet School; 2nd Place - Nicole Gonzalez Vega, Grade 7, Sligh Middle Magnet School
  • Poster Awards - Grades 9-12:  1st Place - Daiana Gonzalez-Videla, Grade 12, Blake High School; 2nd Place - Taylor Fetuga, Grade 11, Blake High School
