Recognition of the 2015 National Librarians Network Secondary Award and Build Something Bold Award for School Library Media Specialists (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The International Society for Technology in Education honored the Librarians Network Secondary School Library Media Specialist of the Year. The Librarians Network Secondary Award recognizes the use of instructional technology to help students develop higher order twenty-first century skills and that the librarian is an instructional technology leader in their library and school setting.

The School Library Journal (SLJ) and Lego Education honored the Build Something Bold Award national recipient at the SLJ Leadership Summit 2015 in October of this year.  The Build Something Bold Award recognizes creative library programming that incorporates hands-on learning led by the school library media specialist.

Mrs. Diana Rendina from Stewart Middle Magnet School was the recipient of both awards. Mrs. Rendina has been the library media specialist at Stewart Middle Magnet School since 2010 and is always eager to learn new techniques, implement new instructional technology tools, and find ways to include students’ voices in the leadership and direction of learning in the media center.
