Approve Payment to the University of South Florida (USF) for Services Associated with Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) participation in the Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI) Professional Development for Teachers (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Approval is requested to pay USF for teacher training during the 2015/2016 school year. The purpose of APSI is to provide professional development for teachers on rigorous teaching techniques, best practices, and exam strategies. The training is for middle and high school teachers. The staff of USF works directly with staff from HCPS to develop training modules and materials related to rigorous classroom instruction. | |

Funds in the amount of $261,800.00 will be available in the Advanced Academics district fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 5378. As of Thursday, November 12, 2015, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $283,800.00. | |
EVALUATION | |
Evaluations are performed for programs to determine their impact. Program personnel collaborate with the Department of Assessment and Accountability to collect required formative and summative evaluation data and use it to identify potential program adjustments to meet the needs of the district and its teachers and students. | |
