| Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Education Analytics to Explore the 2015 State of Florida’s Updated Rules for Determining Teacher Performance Levels and Current HCPS VAM Models and to Explore the Value of Subscores in Value-Added Models (Information and Technology Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| This agreement is needed to address the refinement of the value added measures system. Since the 2010-2011 school year, the district has worked with the University of Wisconsin’s Value-Added Research Center (VARC) to calculate value-added scores as part of our evaluation system. To engage in ongoing analysis of evaluation data, we are contracting with Education Analytics to perform additional analyses.
The attached agreement and statement of work identifies broad areas that will be investigated. Education Analytics will investigate pretest and posttests developed by the district that are used in Value Added Models (VAMs). This work will help us validate the state’s VAM calculations in conjunction with the district’s VAM models. It will also help to determine the value of utilizing subscores in assessments. |

| Funds in the amount of $140,000.00 will be available in the Teacher Incentive Fund grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3005. As of Friday, November 20, 2015, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $18,554,594.00. | |
