Approve Second Amendment to Lease Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida and FL 9-14 Fund, Inc. for School Readiness Child Care Program for the North Tampa Service Center at the Floriland Office Center

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The original Lease Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Centermall, Inc. (predecessor of FL 9-14 Fund, LLC) was approved by the School Board on June 22, 2005, and the First Amendment was approved on July 20, 2010, extending the term to March 31, 2016.  This location houses the School Readiness Child Care Program for the North Tampa Service Center and is the largest satellite office with approximately 35 staff members serving over 40,000 walk-in clients per year.  This location is within a One Stop (One Stop locations are research-based in meeting the needs of the community).  Referring community and state agencies are located within the same building and bus service is readily available.

This Second Amendment to the Lease Agreement will extend the current term for an additional one year period, April 1, 2016, through March 31, 2017.  All terms and conditions of the original Lease will remain the same and rent at the current rate of $20.55 per square foot.  This Amendment has been negotiated by a School Board approved Leasing Broker on behalf of the district.
