SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Award of Contract for Stage Lighting Renovation at Tampa Bay Technical High School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The existing stage lighting system in the auditorium at Tampa Bay Technical High School is not operational and requires replacement. Unallocated maintenance funds are available to fund the required replacement. The project scope provides for replacement of the existing lighting and control system with new LED lamps and controls. District staff selected KBA Engineering, Inc./Tanase & Associates from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services. The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). A single bidder, D&S Electrical Technologies, LLC responded to the solicitation. The original bid exceeded the available budget, and District staff negotiated several value engineering modifications with the bidder to reduce the cost. Award of the contract for construction to D&S Electrical Technologies, LLC, for the revised scope and amount as indicated in the attachment, is recommended.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds in the amount of $381,830.00 will be available in the Local Millage. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 8102. As of Tuesday, January 19, 2016, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $346,936.08.
