Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with the Urban Schools Human Capital Academy (USHCA) (Leadership Development)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A key strategy in phase five of the Hillsborough Principal Pipeline Initiative, is to improve district recruitment strategies for getting diverse candidates into the principal pipeline. The contract with USHCA will allow district staff from Leadership Development and Human Resources to participate in two academies, an online professional learning community, and ongoing webinars on in-depth topics that will support the improvement of district recruitment of diverse leadership candidates.  Through these activities, staff will learn from experts in the field of Human Capital Management as well as other large urban districts facing similar challenges.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Promote a culture of safety, which is free from harassment, bullying, and aggression
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funding for this project is provided by year five of the Wallace Principal Pipeline Initiative Grant for amount of $70,000. The total amount of the grant is $1,476,292.
EVALUATION
Evaluation will include the comparison of candidate data prior to strategies learned from work with USHCA and after the implementation of strategies.
