SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Contract Renewal for Categorical Funding with the Florida Department of Health (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Categorical funding is provided annually through the State of Florida general revenue dollars and is used to fund Registered Nurse positions including, but not limited to, salaries, fringe, travel, and training.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount $485,802 from the General Appropriations Act, Human Services Budget (State of Florida, General Revenue Dollars) will be available in the 2016/2017 fiscal year budget for General Part One Fund.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3135.
EVALUATION
Annual reports are submitted to the Florida Department of Health containing data relative to student, parent, and school health staff encounters as well as services provided by nurse practitioners and a physician.
