Approve the Contract Renewal for Full Service Funding with the Florida Department of Health (Student Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this funding is to expand school-based health services and increase access to health care by funding a pediatric physician and the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) salaries and other costs associated with these positions. The Full Service School funds provide direct health services to schools in our district.  This is an annual renewal of flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Department of Health to the school district and has been in effect for over 20 years.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $422,772 will be provided and money will be available in the 2016/2017 fiscal year budget for Hillsborough County Public Schools from the state legislature general revenue funds and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal dollars in specific line items Full Service Schools.  For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3178. 
EVALUATION
Annual reports are submitted to the Florida Department of Health containing data relative to student, parent, and school health staff encounters as well as services provided by nurse practitioners and a physician.
