Approve the Job Descriptions for the General Manager of Performance Evaluation, Instructional Mentor and Teacher Talent Developer
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Due to the conclusion of the Empowering Effective Teachers (EET) grant and to align with the district’s strategic plan and the Key Performance Indicators, the Talent Development Committee has proposed the new positions of Instructional Mentor and Teacher Talent Developer. These new roles will be utilized to support instructional staff new to the profession, new to the district, and those requesting additional support assistance. These positions will also support site-based initiatives through collaborative instructional practices and site-based professional development.

It is proposed to reclassify the Manager of Evaluation and Compensation to the General Manager of Performance Evaluation due to the added areas of responsibility noted and to oversee Talent Development implementation plans and future evaluation enhancements.

• Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Recruit, develop, and retain a highly effective, diverse workforce • Align financial resources to support the district's strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The reduction of 110 current peer and mentor units and the reclassification of the attached job descriptions should result in an overall savings of $6,352,000.
EVALUATION
These positions will be evaluated annually by district staff and principals.
