Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with National SAM Innovation Project (NSIP) (Leadership Development) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
NSIP has provided services to Hillsborough County Public Schools for the past four years. There are currently 120 principals and school teams as well as 8 Area Superintendents and 8 Principal Coaches using the SAM process to manage time more effectively. The SAM process is a professional development process that provides school leaders with tools and training to focus their time on actions and practices that lead to improved teaching and learning and strong school culture.
The training and support provided by NSIP as part of the contract will allow the 60 principals in SAM cohorts 5 and 6 to have their baseline data recollected to show growth after one year. The teams will also receive additional training through face-to-face sessions with a SAM facilitator and through the annual SAM conference. An on-the-ground implementation specialist will meet with each SAM team to assess growth and progress and plan for continued improvement in supporting the principals in their instructional leadership work. The training and support will take place from March 2, 2016, to December 31, 2016. |
